A.The Divisional Coordinating Committee (Bfsm. Conv.29-31.07.93)
There shall be in every Division, a Divisional Coordinating Committee which shall comprise:
- A Divisional Coordinator;
- An Assistant Divisional Coordinator;
- A Divisional Secretary
- A Divisional Treasurer;
- A Divisional Organising Secretary;
- The officers of the Divisional Coordinating Committee shall be elected at a meeting of the members of the Electoral District Executives within a Division;
- The meeting provided for in Section 9.13 (b) above shall be convened, presided over and the election conducted by the Regional Chairperson, and he/she shall render account thereof to the National Organising Secretary;
- Every member of the Party who is resident within the Division and fulfils the conditions laid down in section 7 of this constitution shall be eligible for election to any post in the Divisional Co-ordinating Committee;
- In the event of a candidate not being an Executive member of any of the Electoral Districts within the division, the Regional Chairperson, convenor of the meeting, shall serve notice in writing on him/her at least two days before the date of the said meeting;
- Members of the Divisional Coordinating Committee shall hold office for a term of four (4) years;
- The quorum of the meeting of executive members of all the Electoral Districts within the Division for the purpose of electing members of the Divisional Coordinating Committee; shall be two thirds (2/3); provided that all the Electoral Districts represented;
- The Divisional Coordinating Committee shall meet at least once every quarter. It shall be convened and presided by the Divisional Coordinator. Where the Divisional Coordinator fails to convene a meeting of the committee, it may be convened by any three members.
B.Powers and Functions
- The Divisional Coordinating Committee shall act as a liaison service for the Executive Committees of all the Electoral Districts within the Division.
- It shall represent the Party at the level of the Division.
